Now Is the Winter...Made Glorious Summer

I’m going back to school.

Well, I already went back to school.

I started my long-longed-for studies at St. Johns College in Annapolis. It’s “the most contrarian college in America”, according to the old gray lady. I’ll circle back to the what and the why and the how of that as I go along. Right now, dear reader, I’m focused on another thing: what do I pack?

Old School

Dorm life, oh my!

I last lived in a dorm in 1990…in Miami. It did not have air conditioning.

Since then I have moved both my LAs into dorms—one for college, the other for prep school (see “I’ll circle back” comment above), so I have been in a dorm this century.

This will be different.
